Biennale Architettura 2025: Intelligence in All Its Forms, in the Heart of Venice
From May 10 to November 23, 2025, Venice will once again become the stage for one of the world’s most visionary cultural events: the 19th International Architecture Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia. This year’s theme “Intelligens. Natural. Artificial. Collective.” invites us to rethink the meaning of intelligence, not only in terms of technology, but as a shared, human, and ecological force.
Curated by architect and engineer Carlo Ratti, the exhibition stretches far beyond the traditional boundaries of architecture. It embraces ideas from biology, urban planning, social sciences and artificial intelligence to explore how we design, inhabit and adapt our built environments in a time of global change.
The title Intelligens, in Latin, reminds us that intelligence is not merely a tool; it’s a way of living together, of listening to nature, of shaping the future as a community.
Venice becomes a living lab
With the Central Pavilion under renovation, the exhibition will expand into unexpected spaces throughout the city. The Giardini, the Arsenale and other historic sites will host installations, national pavilions, experimental projects and open-air exhibits, transforming Venice into a vibrant, walkable lab of ideas.
This year’s edition stands on four pillars: cross-disciplinary thinking, public engagement, circularity and global collaboration. Visitors will be encouraged to contribute, reflect, and participate, not just observe.
Expect immersive installations, provocative questions, and design solutions addressing everything from climate change to digital ethics, urban regeneration and the delicate balance between humanity and nature.
Stay near the Biennale, live the city deeply
Visiting the Biennale isn’t just about seeing the exhibitions — it’s about immersing yourself in the rhythm of Venice. It’s waking up to the quiet of Castello, strolling past locals opening their shops, and reaching the Arsenale in just a few steps. It’s the pleasure of returning “home” after a day among ideas and installations, and enjoying the city with the calm curiosity of someone who belongs.
The Red House Company offers a carefully selected portfolio of apartments close to the Giardini and the Arsenale. Elegant, comfortable, and full of Venetian character — ideal for those who wish to experience the Biennale as part of everyday life, not as a visitor, but as a guest of the city.
